Job Description
Our growing contract manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Payroll & HR Generalist to manage complex multi-state payroll operations while supporting key human resources functions. This role is responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll, certified payroll reporting, union payroll administration, prevailing wage compliance, and various HR activities including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee support.
This position serves as a critical resource for ensuring payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a positive employee experience across multiple locations.
Payroll AdministrationProcess weekly and bi-weekly payroll for approximately 120 employees across five states.
Administer multi-state payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for government and public works projects.
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements and maintain supporting documentation.
Manage union payroll requirements, including dues, benefit contributions, and reporting.
Audit employee time records, wage rates, job classifications, and payroll deductions.
Maintain payroll records and employee data within payroll and HRIS systems.
Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and assist with month-end reporting.
Coordinate payroll tax filings and resolve payroll-related discrepancies.
Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and timekeeping.
Human ResourcesCoordinate full-cycle recruiting activities including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate communications.
Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and support workforce planning.
Facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation, and completion of employment documentation.
Manage background checks, employment verifications, and new hire compliance requirements.
Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
Support employee relations by responding to routine HR inquiries and assisting with issue resolution.
