Job Description

The Recruiter shall report to the Dean of Student Success. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Recruits new students with an emphasis in, but not limited to Lea County, West Texas, and New Mexico. Identify, contact, and support stop-out students. Visit high school campuses, colleges, and other venues for prospective student recruitment Build and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, teachers, and community leaders Assist potential students with the application for admission Inform students and families of educational opportunities and options, admission and other requirements, policies and procedures, scholarships, and financial assistance, as appropriate. Meet targeted application goals. Utilize CRM system to track leads, outreach, and enrollment progress to identify trends, measure effectiveness, and adjust recruitment strategies. Gives presentations for and in various settings. Collaborate with NMJC's Marketing team in creating and distributing a range of resources and promotional materials designed for recruitment. Maintains communication with prospective students. Coordinate tours to meet the needs of prospective students and the community. Sponsor the Student Ambassador Program. Supports New Student Orientation, financial aid, graduation, and other registration events. Collaborates regularly with the enrollment management team to maintain up-to-date knowledge in programs, course offerings, and transfer opportunities. Will oversee large and small recruiting events, e.g., NMJC Discovery Day, tabling events for other campus organizations, etc. NMJC vehicle will be provided for travel. May serve on various campus committees as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of New Mexico Junior College. Associate's degree in any field required. Completed degree(s) must be from an accredited institution. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. Manage extensive travel within assigned recruiting territories. The ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on recruitment needs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of student recruitment. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to project a positive, outgoing and customer centric personality Ability to exercise interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with prospective students and their families, faculty, staff and other external contacts. Able to professionally represent New Mexico Junior College in recruiting. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including public speaking skills. Must possess strong detail and time management skills. Ability to work independently to meet goals and accomplish tasks under deadline stresses. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
A thorough knowledge of:
general office methods, procedures and practices. Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Excellent telephone courtesy, knowledge, and experience. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Strong ability to work with various personalities and communicate with others, in a polite and reasonable manner. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship. This is a twelve-month exempt position. Standard benefits apply.
