$30.00 Employees being promoted to a higher classified position receive the minimum for the position or a pay rate adjustment of 8% whichever is greater. All regular positions also entitle the employee to several benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement which is largely paid by New Mexico Tech for the employee and dependents.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Aquifer Mapping and Monitoring Program is seeking a field technician to support aquifer characterization work across the state. This position will require measuring water levels in monitoring and equipped pumping wells, installing and maintaining data loggers, and collecting water quality samples. Attention to detail is required to collect accurate and complete field notes and enter this data into the Bureau of Geology database. This position requires interacting with the public to coordinate site visits and measure private wells and springs.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Conduct field work measuring depth to water in wells and collecting water samples using a variety of field tools. Collect field notes and enter them into a central database after reviewing for errors. Attend team coordination meetings. 15.00 Technical review of project reports and data.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience collecting hydrologic data in the field such as water level, water quality, etc
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Geoscience or Earth Science. Master's Degree in Geoscience or Earth Science
