We are an established Knightdale irrigation service company with a strong customer base and demand that supports a significantly larger workforce. Our immediate priority is rebuilding our team with dependable field technicians and support employees who can succeed with us long term. This position will work directly with company ownership and take day-to-day responsibility for recruiting, onboarding, training coordination, employee engagement, retention, and general HR administration. The right candidate will also help create practical, repeatable HR systems that support continued company growth. This is a fully in-person position at our Knightdale location. Responsibilities Lead full-cycle recruiting for field technicians, skilled service employees, and office personnel Develop job postings, recruiting campaigns, referral sources, and local recruiting relationships Proactively identify and contact qualified candidates Review applications and conduct initial phone and in-person interviews Coordinate interviews, offers, preemployment requirements, and hiring documentation Maintain an organized candidate pipeline and recruiting activity report Create and manage consistent new-employee onboarding procedures Coordinate technical and nontechnical employee training Conduct regular new-hire follow-up and help address early performance or retention concerns Maintain personnel files, training records, PTO records, and HR documentation Administer employee benefit enrollment and related communications Assist ownership with employee relations, performance reviews, corrective action, and retention efforts Draft and recommend HR policies and procedures for ownership approval Plan employee appreciation activities, team-building functions, company meetings, and other internal events Track recruiting results, hiring costs, employee retention, and other relevant HR measures Serve as an approachable and professional resource for employees Required Qualifications At least three years of hands-on recruiting and HR experience Demonstrated success managing full-cycle recruiting Experience sourcing candidates rather than relying exclusively on incoming applications Experience onboarding and supporting new employees Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive employee matters Practical knowledge of HR policies and employment practices Ability to work in person at our Knightdale location Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Preferred Qualifications Experience recruiting for a local service company Experience recruiting field technicians, skilled-trade employees, or other difficult-to-fill service positions Experience working in a small or growing business Experience developing onboarding, training, or employee-retention programs Familiarity with applicant-tracking, payroll, benefits, or HR information systems Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or comparable HR certification Compensation and Incentives The base salary for this position is $75,000-$95,000 per year , depending on directly relevant experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentives tied to successful recruiting, long-term employee retention, and sustained team growth.
