Job Summary:
The Director of SafeState Training oversees the operations of all training programs for UA SafeState, including the OSHA Training Institute Education Center, other occupational safety, industrial workforce, and professional development training including environmental training. Ensures course compliance with OSHA curriculum, learning objectives, and instructional standards. Leads program evaluation, data-driven performance improvement, and continuous innovation in training methods and delivery platforms.
Additional Department Summary:
Ensures training programs adhere to strict OSHA, EPA, and other standards. Ensures that training for specialized activities (lead-based paint remediation, etc.) are taught by qualified instructors. Acts as the primary liaison during inspections and manages required documentation. Develops and implements strategies for center growth, including identifying new market opportunities, build partnerships with business and industry stakeholders to expand training offerings, promote the availability of courses, collaborate with other OTI Education Centers, and internal collaboration. Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports to OSHA, and oversee expenses for training programs.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of administration or project management experience in training; OR master's degree and two (2) years of administration or project management experience in training.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Basic computer competency. Ability to travel in•and out-of-state as needed. Knowledge of financial management. Knowledge of environmental compliance and sustainability programs relevant to industrial, construction, and public sector workplaces, including EPA-related training topics. Ability to develop environmental training curricula and build collaborative partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of training program development and operation experience. Experience with OSHA Training Institute Education Center or other federal training.
