Schedule:

M/W/Th/F 2-6pm, T 1:30-6pm Make a Difference Every Day As a Drill Team Coach / Youth Development Professional, you'll lead and develop Fleming Middle School's after-school Drill Team while also supporting the overall Boys & Girls Club program. We're looking for someone energetic, dependable, creative, and confident who can build a positive team culture while teaching students the importance of discipline, teamwork, commitment, school spirit, and sportsmanship. This position will be responsible for leading practices, developing routines, preparing members for performances and cheer/drill events, and attending scheduled events with the team. Outside of Drill Team responsibilities, this individual will also support and facilitate general Boys & Girls Club programming for middle school members. What You'll Do Lead structured and engaging Drill Team practices for middle school youth Teach and develop age-appropriate routines, cheers, choreography, and performance skills Prepare members for performances, showcases, cheer/drill events, competitions, and special events Attend scheduled events and performances with the Drill Team Establish clear expectations around attendance, behavior, teamwork, effort, and commitment Create a team culture centered around belonging, accountability, confidence, respect, and school spirit Serve as a positive mentor and role model for participating youth Maintain strong communication with members, parents/guardians, Club staff, and school personnel regarding practices, events, expectations, and student behavior Ensure proper supervision and safety during practices, performances, events, and transportation Assist with recruitment and retention of Drill Team participants Track attendance, participation, and required program documentation Plan and facilitate additional Boys & Girls Club activities and programs when Drill Team is not practicing Support other program areas and Club-wide activities as needed Maintain and properly care for uniforms, equipment, supplies, and program materials Follow all Boys & Girls Club and school policies, safety procedures, and program expectations

What You'll Bring Required:

Experience with drill team, cheer, dance, choreography, coaching, or a related activity preferred Experience working with middle school-aged youth strongly preferred Ability to confidently lead practices and manage groups of youth Strong understanding of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and positive coaching Comfortable holding youth accountable while remaining a supportive and caring mentor Ability to create routines, practices, and activities that are engaging and age appropriate Strong communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with parents/guardians Willingness and availability to attend scheduled performances, cheer/drill events, competitions, and special events Ability to support programs outside of Drill Team and adapt to the needs of the overall after-school program Reliable, organized, energetic, and able to take initiative Bilingual skills and cultural competency are highly desirable CPR/First Aid certification (provided upon hire) Must complete all pre-employment clearances (see below) Pre-Employment Requirements All candidates must complete: Background check (including criminal history) TB test Drug & alcohol screening I-9 verification with original documents required What We Offer Seasonal (summer program) flexibility Employee assistance program Employee discounts Mission-driven work with a long-term impact Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Onsite at designated work location (standalone Clubhouse or school site) involving indoor and outdoor activities Ability to push/pull, squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
