Based on experience Help Us Keep the Spotlight Shining! The Star Theatre Company is looking for an energetic, relationship-driven Development Specialist to help grow our community of donors, sponsors, and supporters. If you're a natural connector who loves meeting people, telling a great story, building community partnerships, and turning relationships into meaningful support, you may be exactly who we're looking for! This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to make an impact. You'll help grow fundraising efforts, cultivate donors, pursue grants and sponsorships, and create new opportunities to support live theatre and arts programming in Oceanside. What You'll Do Build Relationships Cultivate and steward individual donors, major gift prospects, corporate sponsors, and community partners. Develop new donor relationships while keeping current supporters engaged and connected. Represent The Star at community events, performances, donor meetings, and networking opportunities. Confidently and authentically make "the ask" for financial support. Grow Fundraising Help develop and execute annual fundraising campaigns and donor appeals. Identify new sponsorship and fundraising opportunities. Support fundraising events, donor appreciation activities, and special campaigns. Help grow recurring giving and major donor programs. Find & Secure Grants Research foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities. Write compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry. Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and results. Keep Us Organized & On Track Maintain accurate donor and prospect information. Track donations, sponsorships, grants, and donor interactions. Monitor fundraising progress and key performance goals. Partner with the Managing Director, Executive Team, Board, and marketing team to keep fundraising efforts moving forward. You'll Be Great at This If You… Love connecting with people and building genuine relationships. Are enthusiastic, creative, organized, and self-motivated. Have strong written and verbal communication skills. Can tell a compelling story and get others excited about a mission. Are comfortable networking and asking for financial support. Have 2-3+ years of fundraising, nonprofit development, donor relations, sales, business development, or similar experience. Have grant writing or grant research experience—or a strong desire to learn. Are comfortable working with donor databases, CRM systems, and digital tools.
