Job Description

Under the direction of the Food Services Manager develops and implements quality improvement programs, researches and develops training opportunities, reviews kitchen reporting logs and monitors child care centers for compliance in the Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Supports the development of the food services program across multiple counties. Supports CAPSLO's mission by ensuring the multiple county Child & Adult Care Food Program runs smoothly by encouraging quality improvement, training opportunities, maintaining compliance in all kitchens so the program can serve as many families and individuals as possible within the community. What you bring to the table: Bachelor's Degree with two years education or work experience in nutrition, food processing or early childhood education. Experience developing and giving presentations to groups. Solid evidence of strong organizational skills. Experience collaborating on projects and contributing ideas. Fluency in two or more languages, including one that supports the needs of the program and community is preferred, but not required As a Quality Development Specialist you will: Perform site monitoring of meal service, kitchen safety and sanitation, and Farm to Preschool activities. Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives that support USDA efforts to enhance child nutrition and healthy eating habits, including expanding kitchen staff skills and integrating Farm to Preschool curriculum. Research, design, and deliver training opportunities for kitchen staff, including both one-on-one coaching and group sessions. Support cooks in developing computer proficiency and effectively using food program software. Track and monitor monthly child care center kitchen reporting submissions; communicate with sites regarding missing information and ensure timely follow-up. Conduct routine audits of attendance records and meal counts to ensure accuracy and compliance. Promote environmentally responsible practices within the food program by supporting efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle resources. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of program regulations and requirements, and assist in implementing new guidelines with relevant staff. Support the Food Services Manager with a variety of tasks to ensure efficient and effective program operations. Perform other related duties as assigned.
