Job Description

The Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County is searching for a Professional Development Trainer. The Professional Development Trainer is responsible to assess, develop, coordinate and facilitate trainings for early childhood professionals through the Coalition's Professional Development Institute (PDI) to increase the advancement of a high-quality early learning workforce in Pinellas County.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
include: Conduct a training needs analysis to determine the appropriate method of training and evaluate current methods to ensure the Early Learning Coalition's plans and goals are met Develop curriculum for current and future training opportunities offered to the community Assist in the development of the Professional Development Plan for PDI Perform required training that meets Continuing Education Unit (CEU) standard requirements. Participate on committees as assigned Provide coordination support for ELC conferences Assist in the marketing of the Professional Development Institute with the child care community Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
include: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in child development, early childhood or related field required 5 years of experience in early education setting, and experience in training adult learners The following certifications are preferred, and may be required upon availability of certificate course: Outcomes Driven Trainer certification. Interactions Essentials Trainer certification DOE certified trainer for VPK Classroom Observation Scoring System (CLASS) certification Coaching Certification. •All Required Certification Training will be coordinated and paid for completion through the Coalition.•To be the best fit, a candidate will need the following skills/experience: Must be able to align with Coalition's core values and to be a positive representative of the organization. Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers Interact as part of a team by exhibiting dependability, cooperation, initiative, and punctuality Public speaking and ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent organizational skills, ability to move quickly from one task to another as needs dictate, and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines Knowledge of high quality early childhood developmentally appropriate practices for children 0-5 Knowledge surrounding research and best practices for early childhood professionals Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job, including, but not limited to Microsoft 365.
Hours:
Normal Coalition Hours are Monday- Friday, 8am- 5pm. 40 Hours per week Travel is required.
