Youth Development Professional - Summer Camp

(Summer) Youth Development Professional (YDP) - Part time (seasonal•) position(s) for May 18 - Aug 7. Responsible for supervising and implementing curriculum with 15-20 youth. Classes are grouped by age, ranging from ages 5-15 yrs old. Qualified applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check and have open availability Monday-Friday, either 7:15a-12:45p or 12:15p-5:45p at our West Plains location. Starting pay will be $15/hour and up, with education and experience taken into account. •Some seasonal workers may be offered regular, year-round positions at the end of the season. Position Summary As a Youth Development Professional for our Summer Day Camp, you will be instrumental in fostering a safe and engaging environment for children. Reporting to the Camp Director, your role involves utilizing your core skills in childcare and camp management to facilitate fun and educational activities. Your premium skills in classroom management and first aid will ensure the well-being of all campers. Additionally, your relevant experience in tutoring, sports coaching, and behavior management will enhance the overall camp experience, promoting personal growth and development among participants. Join us in making a positive impact on youth during their summer break. Responsibilities Supervise and engage children in various day camp activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Implement age-appropriate educational and recreational programs that promote personal growth and teamwork. Provide support and guidance to campers, addressing individual needs and fostering positive behavior. Collaborate with fellow staff to manage classroom dynamics and maintain effective communication with parents. Administer first aid as needed and uphold safety standards throughout camp operations.
