Job Description

This is a part-time / non-exempt position (approx. 10-15 hours/week).
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Youth Development Professional (YDP) is responsible for ensuring a quality afterschool experience for our members. They must be enthusiastic, dependable and have a passion for working with children. The position's key function is to supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children and to provide opportunities for youth to gain new skills and participate in engaging programs.
KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities):
  • Ensure the health, safety and well-being of participants in the program, by providing appropriate supervision at all times.
  • Plan and implement meaningful activities and lesson plans that are age-appropriate, exciting, challenging, and based in the areas of academics, STEAM, character development, community service, physical fitness and healthy lifestyles.
  • Support the coordination and presentation of a culminating performance or presentation at the end of the program cycle for members' families.
  • Work cooperatively with program staff to ensure the needs and interests of our members are being met.
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all participants.
  • Serve as a positive role model for participants.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation (attendance, sign in/out forms, behavior/incident/accident reports, as appropriate).
  • Adhere to all Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings and special events.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. May participate in and/or lead special programs and/or events.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
  • Knowledge/experience working or volunteering in a youth development or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications a plus
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:
$13.00 - $17.00 per hour
