Job Description
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Assess training needs for new and existing employees Design and utilize assessment tools to measure training effectiveness Identify internal and external training programs to address competency gaps Monitor external environment for changing regulatory areas Organize, develop or source training programs to meet specific training needs Develop training aids such as activities, competency assessments, PowerPoints, manuals, and handbooks Present training programs using recognized training techniques and tools Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job coaching Keep current on training design and methodology Track and report on training outcomes Provide feedback to program participants and management Maintain department employee training records. Maintain Train the Trainer Certifications needed to educate employees. These certifications include, but not limited to, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Instructors, CPR/First Aid Instructor Certified, CARE Educator, etc. Partner with internal stakeholders regarding employee training needs Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment Responsible for ongoing training evaluation and making necessary adjustments to the training as needed. Establish and maintain relationships with external training providers Coordinate off-site training activities for employees Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment Models and practices sensitivity, fair treatment and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions The Qualified Candidate will have: A Bachelor's degree in education, communication, or human services Minimum of 2 years experience developing, conducting, presenting, tracking and leading training programs required Management experience preferred A valid NYS driver's license Excellent written communication skills and dynamic oral communication skills Experience in human services preferred Standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling and occasional lifting and/or moving more than 25 pounds may be required Schedule Information- Shift will be based on the training needs of the program. Schedule can be preplanned in advance and will vary between 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm, or 11a-7p shifts with occasional evenings and weekends required.
