Job Description

Classroom Teacher (Full-Time) REACH Academy Charter School is seeking a full-time Building Substitute Teacher (Spanish Speaking) to join a collaborative and mission-driven team. REACH is a supportive, community-oriented school where educators work together to help every student succeed. Teachers are empowered to grow professionally, contribute ideas, and build meaningful relationships with students and colleagues. The school day runs from 6:50 AM - 2:30 PM , with one day per week extending until 4:00 PM for staff planning and collaboration . Compensation & Benefits REACH offers a competitive salary and strong benefits package.
Salary Range:
$40,000 $40,000 for long-term substitute teachers Up to 10 years of prior teaching experience recognized on the salary scale Benefits include: 80% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance 100% employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability Participation in the New York State Teachers Retirement System Paid Family Leave 403(b) retirement plan 10% discount on Fetch Pet Insurance All classroom and student supplies provided by the school Benefits become available after 40 completed school days . Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with school curriculum and state standards Create a structured and supportive classroom environment Monitor and evaluate student learning and progress Communicate regularly with families about student development Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress Participate in team planning, coaching, and professional development Reflect on student data to improve instructional practices Contribute positively to the REACH school community Support school routines, expectations, and procedures Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: Bachelors degree in a related field (Masters preferred) Valid New York State teaching certification or eligibility for certification Strong communication and collaboration skills A belief that all students can achieve high academic standards Commitment to equity and inclusive learning environments Passion for working in an urban education setting Candidates working toward certification may also be considered in accordance with applicable regulations.
