Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented 988 Training Specialist and Quality Assurance professional to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs focused on mental health crisis response and emergency services. This role is vital in ensuring that our team members are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver exceptional support through innovative learning solutions. This position will also play an important role in maintaining high-quality crisis response services through call monitoring, quality assurance, compliance oversight, staff feedback, and operational coverage. The successful candidate must also be prepared to provide direct 988 call, chat, and text coverage when necessary to maintain uninterrupted services. Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging and effective training sessions both in-person and virtually for new hires, existing employees, clients, or program participants.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques such as presentations, demonstrations, simulations, role-plays, and interactive exercises.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and participant needs.
- Develop and maintain training curricula, lesson plans, presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and job aids.
- Ensure training content is aligned with program goals, organizational standards, and industry best practices.
- Continuously update training materials to reflect process changes, system updates, or new organizational requirements.
- Recommend training initiatives or improvements based on assessment results.
- Assess participant learning through behavioral observations.
- Provide individualized coaching, guidance, and mentoring to trainees during and after training sessions.
- Address participant concerns or challenges promptly and professionally.
- Support participants in applying newly learned skills on the job.
- Manage training schedules, logistics, materials, and resources.
- Track attendance, completion rates, and training records in compliance with organizational policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve training processes and implement best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and ethical guidelines.
- Onboarding and training delivery in both in-person and remote formats
- There may be opportunities to work evenings and weekends to provide targeted training as needed
- When not actively providing training, this individual would assist with covering shifts on the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Since training will not be scheduled full-time, covering the lines would help fill their scheduled hours. Over time, this role may also take on some Quality Assurance responsibilities.
