Job Summary The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and tracking all employee training programs to ensure compliance with agency policy, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and professional best practices. This position ensures staff are properly trained, certified, and prepared to perform their duties safely and effectively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and maintain comprehensive training programs for new hires and current employees. Schedule and track mandatory training, including in-service training, annual requirements, certifications, and recertifications. Upon completion of orientation, the employee will be able to identify and apply applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards (e.g., ACA, CLEET, OSHA). Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, files, rosters, and documentation. Coordinate with department heads and supervisors to identify training needs and address skill gaps. Facilitate or arrange internal and external training sessions, instructors, and resources. Monitor employee training progress and notify supervisors of upcoming or overdue requirements. Assist with onboarding by coordinating orientation and initial training for new employees. Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements or updates as needed as a team. Prepare reports, audits, and documentation related to training compliance and accreditation. Ensure training materials, policies, and procedures are current and properly distributed. Support disciplinary or corrective action processes by verifying training completion when required. Serve as Quartermaster by managing the inventory, issuance, tracking, and replacement of agency uniforms, training-related supplies, including Law Enforcement/Detention equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of training principles, adult learning methods, and program coordination. Familiarity with correctional, law enforcement, or public safety training standards is a plus. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments. Proficiency with record-keeping systems, databases, and basic office software. Ability to prioritize deadlines and manage multiple training schedules simultaneously. Education and Experience Associate or bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Education, Public Administration, or a related field preferred, but not required. Previous experience in training coordination, human resources, corrections, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred but not required. Experience with accreditation standards or compliance tracking is a plus. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout training facilities for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry training materials and equipment as needed. May require attendance at training sessions outside normal business hours. Working Conditions Office and facility environment with regular interaction with staff from multiple departments and surrounding agencies. May be exposed to Detention facility settings when coordinating or observing training.
