It is not a traditional salaried or hourly employment position . AmeriCorps VISTA members serve in capacity-building assignments designed to strengthen nonprofit organizations and communities. Members receive an AmeriCorps VISTA living allowance rather than an hourly wage or conventional salary , along with benefits and terms established by AmeriCorps based on eligibility and program requirements. About CITCA Counselors in the Community Association (CITCA) is a community-based organization dedicated to strengthening community wellness, youth empowerment, and family support. Through the CITCA Growing Stronger Communities VISTA project, CITCA is strengthening its organizational infrastructure and sustainability so it can expand health and wellness outreach and continue serving vulnerable youth and families. Position Overview The Organizational Compliance & Strategic Partnerships Developer will strengthen CITCA's nonprofit compliance systems, governance infrastructure, strategic partnerships, funding readiness, and long-term organizational sustainability. The VISTA member will develop practical systems, tools, templates, documentation, and training resources that CITCA can continue using after the service term. Key ResponsibilitiesNonprofit Compliance & Legal Readiness The VISTA member will: Research and summarize nonprofit compliance requirements, including annual filings, bylaws, board governance practices, and policy standards. Develop a Nonprofit Compliance & Governance Toolkit containing templates, checklists, and guides. Develop policy review and document-retention systems. Conduct a compliance gap assessment and propose sustainable improvement strategies. Establish a database of pro bono legal partners and law school clinics. Strategic Partnerships The VISTA member will: Identify and engage potential nonprofit, university, and corporate partners. Draft and refine memoranda of understanding and partnership templates. Develop a Partnership Development Plan documenting engagement processes, evaluation metrics, and sustainability strategies. Support a Partner Onboarding Toolkit covering policies, communication protocols, and reporting standards. Document partnership best practices and lessons learned for future VISTA members and organizational leaders. Funding & Sustainability The VISTA member will: Research and compile grant-readiness requirements. Create a Grant Readiness Binder containing organizational documents, certifications, and narrative templates. Develop a Funding Resource Directory. Draft standard language and narrative templates aligned with CITCA's mission and federal funding priorities. Assist with sustainability workshops for staff and community partners. Knowledge Transfer & Capacity Development The VISTA member will: Develop training materials and manuals documenting new systems, processes, and compliance frameworks. Facilitate training sessions with staff, volunteers, and partners. Document lessons learned, best practices, and recommendations. Produce a final sustainability and capacity report summarizing accomplishments, impacts, and long-term strategies. Qualifications The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Previous experience in partnership development and building community partnerships Experience in program development and management Strong research, writing, and documentation skills Strong organizational and project-management abilities Attention to detail Interest in nonprofit operations, compliance, organizational development, partnerships, or sustainability Ability to create clear systems, guides, templates, and training materials Professional communication skills and ability to work with staff, volunteers, and external partners Ability to work independently while contributing to organizational goals The approved VAD does not establish a specific degree, certification, or professional experience requirement. Service Expectations This is a full-time national service assignment focused on organizational capacity building and sustainability . The VISTA member will develop infrastructure, systems, partnerships, documentation, and training resources intended to remain useful to CITCA after the service term.
