Job Summary The Senior Field Engineer - Program Support provides senior-level technical support across multiple programs and accounts, serving as a shared resource for Field Engineers and Senior Field Engineers throughout the project lifecycle. This role is program-based, not site-assigned, and is responsible for reinforcing technical consistency, documentation quality, and adherence to engineering standards. Reporting to the Technical Director, this role collaborates closely with Technical Managers to support field execution, resolve complex technical issues, and strengthen engineering performance across programs. General Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide technical guidance and escalation support to Field Engineers and Senior Field Engineers across all programs. Collaborate with Technical Managers to reinforce technical standards, SOPs, and best practices. Support new project and program start-ups, including submittals, cable schedules, and RFIs. Assist with engineering kickoffs, drawing reviews, and onboarding of engineering resources. Provide ongoing technical support during active execution. Review RFIs, submittals, and engineering documentation to support quality, consistency, and completeness. Assist with documentation readiness and project close-out support. Provide short-term or limited-scope engineering support where dedicated resources are unavailable. Perform additional duties as assigned by Program Management. Documentation, Reporting & Tracking Maintain program-level technical status reports and dashboards. Provide regular updates on testing progress, commissioning readiness, and documentation status. Track critical technical milestones and support risk identification and mitigation. Ensure proper management, calibration, and recordkeeping of test equipment. Training & Development Support development and maintenance of field training plans using IES and manufacturer-based courses. Recommend and track required certifications for Field Engineers and technical personnel. Assist with onboarding and technical enablement of new or transitioning engineers. Stakeholder Communication Coordinate technical communication with clients, general contractors, and cross-functional teams. Support requirement gathering, progress updates, and expectation management. Act as a technical liaison between field teams, Technical Managers, and program leadership. Performance & Process Oversight Support performance feedback and development of technical personnel in collaboration with Technical Managers. Assist in evaluating and improving engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance consistency and quality. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements Must be self-motivated, professional, and able to lead technical teams through influence. Must promote IES's culture and mission. Must possess strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills. Must be able to interpret technical documentation, specifications, drawings, and technical metrics. Must be able to travel nationally as needed to support program requirements. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in structured cabling, mission-critical, or commercial low-voltage environments. Experience supporting multiple projects or programs concurrently. Proficient in engineering and documentation tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel). Strong written and verbal communication skills.
