Position Summary The Food Service Trainer is a critical process owner and frontline educator responsible for developing, documenting, implementing, teaching, and maintaining consistent food service operating standards across all Fuel City locations. This role partners with department leadership and operational subject matter experts to define approved best practices and translate them into clear, accurate, and repeatable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), recipes, Job Helpers, training materials, and operational resources. This role does not directly supervise employees; instead, it is responsible for driving consistent processes, documentation, and training across Fuel City locations. Success requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, process-driven individual who is disciplined about documentation, follow-through, standardization, and continuous improvement. The Food Service Trainer is accountable not only for teaching established procedures, but also for ensuring those procedures remain current, practical, consistently documented, and effectively implemented in the field. This position proactively identifies process gaps, creates or updates documentation as needed, trains team members on approved standards, and verifies understanding and execution. Roles Responsibilities Food Service and Customer Service Training Train employees on food preparation, food handling, portion control, recipe execution, and presentation to Fuel City standards. Educate team members on menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and product specifications. Train employees on POS systems, drive-thru operations, loyalty programs, refunds, and third-party delivery platforms. Reinforce compliance with food safety, sanitation, FIFO procedures, and SOP standards. Train employees on proper temperature controls, contamination prevention, and safe food handling practices. Reinforce product consistency standards including taste, appearance, portioning, packaging, and presentation. Coach employees on hospitality, guest engagement, and customer service standards while reinforcing consistent process execution. Teach service recovery techniques and complaint resolution procedures using approved Fuel City standards. Conduct role-play and hands-on scenarios to reinforce communication, customer interaction, and correct operational procedures. Process Ownership, SOP Development Training Lead the development, documentation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of food service SOPs, recipes, Job Helpers, training programs, and operational resources. Partner with department leadership and operational subject matter experts to define and document approved Fuel City best practices. Own the process of converting operational knowledge and best practices into clear, detailed, easy-to-follow procedures and training materials. Maintain an organized and current library of SOPs, recipes, Job Helpers, training materials, and operational documentation. Maintain organized, accurate, and current SOPs and training materials, including appropriate review and approval information. Proactively identify missing, outdated, unclear, or ineffective procedures and lead the creation or revision of documentation as needed. Ensure SOPs and training materials are updated when products, equipment, policies, regulations, or operating procedures change. Develop and deliver training that effectively teaches new and revised procedures to team members and operational leaders. Verify understanding and execution of documented standards through observation, assessment, and follow-up. Observe how documented procedures are being carried out in the field and identify opportunities to improve the process, documentation, or training. Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve operational consistency, food quality, food safety, service execution, and training effectiveness. Employee Development Coaching Conduct structured new hire and existing employee training based on approved Fuel City SOPs and operating standards. Provide one-on-one coaching, feedback, and skill reinforcement focused on correct execution of documented standards and operational consistency. Assess trainee comprehension and operational readiness. Conduct refresher training sessions and skill reinforcement activities when gaps are identified. Lead training huddles to reinforce food safety, quality, operational, and guest service expectations. Identify recurring execution or training gaps that may indicate a need for improved processes, documentation, or training. Requirements Food service, restaurant, hospitality customer service experience. Previous experience developing, documenting, implementing, or maintaining SOPs, training programs, operational procedures, or similar process documentation strongly preferred. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and process discipline, with demonstrated ability to turn operational information into clear, repeatable procedures. Strong written communication skills with the ability to create, update, organize, and maintain clear SOPs, Job Helpers, recipes, step-by-step instructions, and training materials. Demonstrated follow-through and accountability, with the ability to independently identify process gaps and drive documentation projects through completion. Ability to balance operational practicality with the need for consistency and standardization. Strong verbal communication, presentation, and training skills. Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Food Manager Certification required. Bilingual preferred. Valid driver's license required. Must be willing and able to travel regularly between Fuel City locations throughout the DFW Metroplex to support training, process implementation, and business operations. Must maintain a flexible work schedule to support operational and training needs, including mornings, evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts as required by business operations.
