POSITION

A part-time, (25%, ~10 hours per week) academic-year position is available in College of Business beginning August 17, 2026. The working title for this assignment is Student Professional Development Program Coordinator with an official title of Academic Program Manager. This is a renewable position, contingent on performance. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Must be a current employee of UW-Eau Claire or UW-Eau Claire Barron County.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree Work experience in a business setting Experience with training and/or curriculum design and program assessment Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills Knowledge of professional etiquette, professional networking, and professional presence Creative abilities in program design and delivery Current employee of UW-Eau Claire or UW-Eau Claire/Barron County

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree Experience working with college students Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Proficiency with Canvas or another LMS Experience with Articulate Storyline

DUTIES:

Create and maintain a relevant, contemporary, and robust professional development curriculum for the SPDP workshops, both online and in-person Facilitate the online and in-person SPDP workshops each semester, including the networking events Assess program effectiveness and student success Hire and supervise the SPDP intern Schedule keynote speakers or external SPDP program workshop guest speakers Coordinate networking event guests with the CoB Outreach Program Coordinator Coordinate efforts with the program DA to ensure student accountability and program completion Other duties as assigned

DEPARTMENT

The SPDP is housed in the Department of Business Communication and Information Systems (BCIS) within the College of Business (CoB). The department consists of 13 staff members and is one of the four academic units in the College of Business. The BCIS Department houses majors, minors, and certificates in business administration, business communication, and information systems. The College of Business consists of 2000 students and 40 faculty and instructional staff. Department members work closely with COB faculty to ensure that the communication classes meet the needs of the various majors in the college.
