Job Description

Assisting alongside program leaders in planning and leading center members and activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the priority outcomes of the program. May assist in special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other activities as necessary. Participating in the Salvation Army's ministry advancement by collaborating with the Salvation Army Officers to ensure Red Shield Youth Centers provide an engaging, enriching and empowering environment where youth develop Christ-like character, preparing them to become tomorrow's leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
May participate in special programs and/or events. Assist in the conservation of all Salvation Army resources. Abide by and enforce all Salvation Army policies and procedures. Be willing to assist in any way asked to fulfill the mission of The Salvation Army. Assist in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order. Assist in maintaining all storage areas keeping them orderly and clean. Report all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to the supervisor. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for Club members. Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure the safety of members, quality of programs, and appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports. Assist with the implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to drive a vehicle safely and follow all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Duties are usually performed standing and walking and relieved by periods of sitting to perform other duties. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
: High School Diploma or
G.E.D. AND
One year of previous experience working with children and youth preferred OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
First Aid and C.P.R. Certification (or ability to obtain) Valid State Driver's License, preferred.
