Job Description

Job Overview 4Paws River Lodge Bather is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon specific services. This role also shares responsibility of store cleanliness, and pet safety standards. Duties Safely handle and restrain animals during grooming procedures to ensure their comfort and safety Perform pet bathing, drying, brushing, and coat styling tailored to each breed and individual pet needs Trim pet nails, clean ears, and perform basic grooming tasks. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions. Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and equipment regularly. Assist with animal handling at the facility. Responsible for check-in and check-out procedures. Independently performs full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services, such as nail trims, and sanitary services. Maintains total store cleanliness standards. Assists and works in other departments as required. Other duties may be assigned. Follows all Company Policies and Procedures. Requirements Previous experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant roles enhances your ability to handle animals with special needs Ability to handle animals of various sizes, including heavy lifting when necessary Strong communication skills for engaging with pet owners confidently and professionally Experience with animal restraint techniques, pet nail trimming, and coat styling required Ability to work on your feet for extended periods while maintaining a lively, positive attitude Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as a wet environment with an abundance of pet hair. The noise level is moderate in the work environment; however, associates may be exposed to high levels of noise at times. Exposure to live animals and their handling is common.
