Flexible Availability Preferred About Primal Paws Primal Paws is a growing, locally owned pet care company providing professional in-home pet care throughout Flagstaff and the surrounding areas. We're committed to providing dependable, compassionate, and high-quality care while giving pet owners complete peace of mind. We're currently looking for a reliable and compassionate Pet Sitting Contractor to join our team. About the Position This position primarily focuses on pet sitting services, with occasional opportunities to assist with dog walking, bathing, and other pet care services as business needs arise. Because our services are scheduled based on client demand, this is an on-demand contractor position. There may be weeks where you complete several services, while other weeks may have few or none. This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible, gig-style work similar to Rover while becoming part of a local professional pet care team. As Primal Paws continues to grow, this position is expected to develop into a more consistent part-time—and potentially full-time—opportunity for the right person. Pet Sitting Services Overnight Pet Sitting Overnight pet sitting involves staying in the client's home with their pets from the scheduled arrival time until the end of the service.
Responsibilities include:
Providing companionship and supervision Feeding and refreshing water Potty breaks and walks Administering medications when needed Following each client's care instructions and daily routine Keeping the home clean, secure, and respected throughout the stay To maintain a professional standard and respect our clients' privacy, Primal Paws provides a folding cot for overnight stays, allowing our contractors to sleep comfortably in the living room near the pets rather than using the client's bedroom. Daily Visit Pet Sitting Daily Visit Pet Sitting consists of a minimum of four visits per day, with clients having the option to add additional visits if needed.
Typical visit windows include:
7:00 AM
  • 8:00 AM 11:00 AM
  • 12:00 PM 4:00 PM
  • 5:00 PM 9:00 PM
  • 10:00 PM Each visit generally lasts 10-15 minutes and includes: Feeding and fresh water Potty breaks and walks Medication administration (when needed) Basic wellness checks Quality time and companionship Qualifications We're looking for someone who is: Experienced working with animals (strongly preferred) Dependable and punctual Professional and trustworthy Positive and detail oriented Compassionate and patient with animals Comfortable working independently A strong communicator Able to follow detailed care instructions Comfortable entering clients' homes respectfully Requirements At least 18 years old Experience working with animals strongly preferred, but training is available for the right candidate Be comfortable working with animals of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments Reliable transportation Valid driver's license Valid auto insurance (if transporting pets) Smartphone with reliable internet access Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed Ability to pass a background check Possess great customer service skills Communicate promptly and professionally with clients and management Compensation Commission-based pay per completed service Keep 100% of all tips Opportunities for bonuses and increased earnings as service volume grows Why Join Primal Paws?
