Job Description

Pet Groomer - Manager Crossover Kim's Pet Grooming LLC Scottsdale, AZ Job Details Full-time $25.96 - $31.27 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Companion animal handling Teamwork Operations management Dog handling Relationship management Cleaning Full Job Description Lead Dog Groomer — Management Advancement Opportunity Grooming by Kim / Uptown Pet Spa is looking for an experienced, dependable groomer who is ready to become a key member of our salon and grow into a leadership or management position. This is more than an individual grooming role. We need a superstar and self-starter who can provide excellent grooming services while helping oversee workflow, support the team, communicate with clients, and keep the salon running smoothly. Our ideal candidate is someone who naturally takes initiative, notices what needs attention, and is interested in earning increased responsibility within an established, owner-operated shop. Current Schedule We are primarily looking for availability on: Sundays Tuesdays Thursdays Additional days and hours may become available during the busy holiday season and as the candidate's management responsibilities grow. Leadership and Advancement Opportunity The owner currently manages the shop personally and is present in the salon daily. She is looking for someone she can trust to gradually take on greater responsibility and help lead day-to-day operations. The right candidate may advance into responsibilities such as: Coordinating the daily grooming and bathing workflow Helping keep appointments running on schedule Supporting, guiding, and training team members Helping resolve client questions or concerns Monitoring safety, cleanliness, and service standards Assisting with check-in, checkout, phones, and scheduling Identifying problems and taking appropriate action without waiting to be directed Helping maintain a cooperative, positive, and drama-free team environment Serving as a dependable point person when the owner is handling other responsibilities Taking on additional salon-management duties as trust and experience are established Advancement will be based on reliability, initiative, judgment, communication, leadership ability, and consistent performance. What We're Looking For The right person will be: An experienced and confident dog groomer A natural leader who is interested in professional advancement Reliable, punctual, organized, and accountable A proactive self-starter who does not require constant supervision Able to see the needs of the entire salon—not only their own grooming schedule Comfortable giving direction and helping coworkers stay on task Kind, patient, and safety-conscious with dogs Calm and professional when communicating with clients Willing to step into bathing, front-desk, or general salon-support duties when needed Mature, solution-oriented, and committed to a respectful, no-drama workplace Interested in becoming a trusted, long-term member of the business Grooming Responsibilities Complete full-service dog grooming appointments from start to finish Safely handle dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, temperaments, and coat conditions Consult with clients and clearly communicate grooming recommendations Maintain accurate notes regarding grooming instructions, pet behavior, skin or health concerns, and future service recommendations Bathe, dry, brush, de-shed, trim nails, and perform other salon services as needed Maintain consistent quality and safety standards Keep personal and shared grooming areas clean, sanitary, and organized Salon Support Responsibilities Because this is a leadership-track position, the groomer must be willing to support the complete operation of the salon.
Responsibilities may include:
Filling in for bathing duties when needed Answering phones and assisting with scheduling Checking dogs in and out Communicating service information and grooming recommendations to clients Assisting with payments and client records Supporting the owner with administrative or operational tasks Helping organize the day's workflow Stepping in where needed to prevent delays or disruptions Modeling professional, cooperative, and safety-conscious behavior for the team We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the salon's success—not someone who intends to groom only their scheduled dogs and leave all other responsibilities to the owner or team. Equipment Applicants must provide and maintain their own professional grooming tools, including clippers, blades, shears, combs, brushes, and other personal equipment required to perform their work. The salon provides the primary work area and standard shop equipment. Our Shop Environment Grooming by Kim / Uptown Pet Spa is locally owned and directly managed by the owner, who is actively involved in the shop each day.
Our salon is:
Friendly, fun, and low-key Professional without feeling corporate Supportive and team-oriented Low-pressure while maintaining high standards Focused on quality care, safety, and strong client relationships Committed to a respectful, mature, and drama-free workplace This is an excellent opportunity for a talented groomer who wants to work in a comfortable environment while building a meaningful leadership role within the business.
To Apply Please send:
