Experienced Pet Groomer - Part-Time / Holiday Help Overview The Cutesy Groomer is a boutique dog and cat grooming salon focused on beautiful grooming, personalized care, and creating a positive experience for every pet that walks through our doors. We believe great grooming is about more than the finished haircut. It's about treating every animal with patience, kindness, respect, and the same level of care we would want for our own pets. We are looking for an experienced, dependable groomer to join our team part-time, initially with a focus on providing additional support during the busy holiday season. For the right person, there is potential for this to develop into a long-term or full-time position. Responsibilities As a groomer, you will be responsible for the full grooming process from check-in to completion, including: Greeting clients and checking in dogs and cats Assessing coat condition, skin, temperament, and individual grooming needs Discussing appropriate grooming recommendations and short- and long-term coat goals with pet parents Bathing, blow drying, and fluff drying Nail trimming and ear cleaning Clipping, scissoring, and styling coats to breed standard or owner preference Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized workspace Communicating professionally with clients and team members Handling every pet safely, patiently, and compassionately throughout the entire grooming process Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is personable, professional, reliable, and confident in their grooming skills. You should be comfortable working independently while also being part of a team. Above all, you must genuinely love working with animals. We treat the pets in our care like family, and gentle, respectful/quiet handling is an absolute requirement!

Maintaining patience and composure including with nervous, senior, difficult, or challenging pets is extremely important in our salon.

Applicants must have:

A minimum of 2 years of professional grooming experience Strong bathing, drying, clipping, scissoring, and finishing skills The ability to safely handle a variety of breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments Excellent attention to detail Strong communication and customer service skills Dependability and professionalism Their own professional grooming tools The ability to maintain a calm, positive demeanor in a busy grooming environment Cat grooming experience is a plus, but is not required. This position is intended for an experienced groomer and is not an entry-level or training position. Compensation & Schedule This is a part-time position, approximately 2-3 days per week, with Saturdays required. We are particularly looking for additional support during the busy holiday season, so availability and reliability throughout the holiday period are important. Compensation ranges from approximately $20-$40+ per hour depending on experience, skill level, responsibilities, and compensation structure. Hourly or commission-based compensation may be available depending on the candidate, plus tips. Exceptional candidates with extensive experience, outstanding grooming skills, and/or leadership or management capabilities may qualify for compensation at the higher end of the range. While we are currently hiring for part-time holiday support, there is potential for this position to develop into a long-term or full-time role for the right candidate. A groomer who demonstrates exemplary grooming skills, professionalism, reliability, compassionate animal handling, and a strong fit with our salon may be considered for a permanent position.
