Job Overview Join our team as a Kennel Worker and become a vital part of providing exceptional care and comfort to our furry friends at our rescue! In this hands on role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for dogs in our senior rescue facility. Your enthusiasm for animal welfare and strong work ethic will help ensure each one receives the attention, love, and care they deserve. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with animals daily, supporting their health and happiness while contributing to a compassionate team. Duties Provide attentive pet care, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as needed Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing kennels, bedding, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment Monitor animals' behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or supervisors Support outdoor work activities such as walking dogs and cleaning outdoor enclosures Engage in gentle dog enrichment and training exercises to promote good behavior and socialization Perform heavy lifting tasks when necessary to move and organize supplies Experience Previous veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician is highly desirable Experience in pet care facilities demonstrates your dedication to animal well-being Kennel experience or animal shelter work provides a strong foundation for this role Skills in dog training, animal behavior assessment, and pet grooming are advantageous Familiarity with cleaning protocols specific to pet facilities ensures proper sanitization practices Outdoor work experience helps you comfortably handle activities like walking dogs or cleaning outdoor enclosures Ability to lift heavy objects safely through team lifting techniques is essential for managing supplies and large animals Join us in creating a safe, clean, and loving environment where animals thrive!
