Job Description
Substitute Teacher for K-8th Grade Independent School Contra Costa Jewish Day School is seeking substitute teachers for grades K-8. This is an on-call position when teachers are absent. We are a K-8 independent school with approximately 170 students, accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The school offers small class sizes, teaching assistants, a supportive environment, true dedication to professional growth, and an innovative approach to learning. Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans and schedule for the day as determined by the teacher(s) and administration.
- Cover the absent teacher's duties and responsibilities such as lunch and/or recess duties.
- Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the expectations of faculty and staff as outlined in the faculty handbook.
Desired Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year institution
- Experience working with K-8th grade students
- Effective classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills This position is paid hourly (including paid lunch and breaks), at $22-$30 per hour, depending on experience and credentials.
