What they do
An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates preferred have previous dog experience with either animal shelters (Volunteer experience a plus!), pet day camp and boarding, or Vet clinics.
- Must have excellent knowledge with dog behavior
- Must be able to kneel, bend, lift up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long periods of time
- Must be able to physically handle large, powerful and very loving dog breeds (averaging 120lbs) such as St. Bernard's, Mastiff's, Rottweiler's etc. as well as bend and kneel to play with the tiny breeds such as Maltese's, Pug's, Chihuahua's etc.
- Must have excellent dog parents/customer service skills
- Must have good computer skills
- Love to spoil and play with dogs!
- If you have no previous experience working in a dog care center, but have lot of personal dog care experience, you are very much encouraged to apply!
- Flexibility is a plus Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Feeding, exercising all dogs (individually and a group), constant monitoring dog's health and safety in camp, monitoring lodging accommodations for cleanliness and safety, cleaning chores throughout your shift, giving dogs a bath, processing client payments, answering phone/emails, and other duties.
