Animal & Bird Clinic of Mission Viejo is looking for a dependable and compassionate Experienced Kennel Attendant to join our team. In this hands-on role, you'll help keep boarded pets comfortable, safe, clean, and well cared for while supporting the hospital's overall flow. From feeding and walking pets to monitoring their well-being and maintaining clean boarding areas, your work will make a meaningful difference every day. Why Our Kennel Attendants Love It Here Plenty of hands-on time caring for animals A supportive, team-oriented work environment Opportunities to strengthen animal-handling and veterinary support skills Opportunities for professional growth Employee pet care discounts and perks A role where your attention and compassion directly impact pet comfort and welfare What Our Kennel Attendants Do Provide daily care for boarded pets, including feeding, walking, and exercising Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, boarding areas, and common hospital spaces Perform regular cleaning and disinfecting throughout the hospital Assist with safe animal restraint during appointments and veterinary procedures Monitor pets for changes in health, behavior, appetite, or overall well-being Promptly communicate medical or behavioral concerns to the appropriate team member Bathe and brush pets as needed Provide friendly, professional service to pet owners Answer basic questions about boarded pets and communicate concerns to the veterinary team Help care for boarders on weekends and holidays as scheduled Follow proper animal-handling and safety protocols Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment What You'll Bring Previous dog-handling, kennel, boarding, or animal-care experience preferred Genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare Comfort handling pets safely and compassionately Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team A self-motivated and dependable approach Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail Willingness to work some weekends and holidays as needed A positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever help is needed Knowledge of basic pet grooming practices is a plus The Extras You'll Actually Feel This is a role for someone who wants to be actively involved in animal care every day.
