Job Description

Arvada Colorado - Overnight pet sitting, occasional dog walks, vacation drop-in visits, and cat check-ins in Arvada and surrounding area. If you love animals and want a job that is low stress, then working part-time as a dog walker/pet sitter might be a good fit for you! Tuesday and Thursday availability needed. May be needed occasionally on other days as well but it's more flexible. Must be available to work nights and weekends, including holidays. This is a 1099 contracted position with part time hours. As a dog walker and pet sitter your responsibilities include: Taking dogs for walks for approximately 30-45 minutes. Picking up and disposing of dog waste properly during walks. Feeding pets as needed and refilling the water supply to make sure basic needs are met after walks. Possibly administering oral medication. Providing overnight pet care in a client's home will also include bringing in mail/packages, taking out trash, watering plants and making sure their home is safe and secure. Must be experienced handling large dogs. We also take care of special needs pets. Some have mobility issues and may need help with their potty breaks or have a very detailed care plan. We also offer cat visits for feeding, litter box scooping and meds; Date-night evening visits, Vacation drop-ins and much more. Pets include dogs, cats, chickens and rabbits (the occasional gecko may also need crickets fed).

Position Requirements:
We're looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals who can commit to a fairly consistent schedule and enjoy being active outdoors. You should be comfortable walking 4-5 miles a day, have prior professional pet care experience, and bring strong communication skills and sound judgment to the role. Special consideration given to individuals with prior vet tech/assistant experience. Need to be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Additional requirements include:
Ability to pass a background check Two to three professional references A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license A working smartphone for scheduling, communication and service check-ins Minimum age of 21 Dependability, maturity, and genuine care for animals are key to success in this position. I don't just hire help. I hire someone I trust with my own pets. Someone with common sense, attention to detail and genuine care and concern for the pets.
