Farm Animal Care Team Member Cedarwood Animal Sanctuary Easton, CT Job Details Part-time | PRN $40 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Record keeping Horse care Teamwork Outdoor work experience Farm experience Full Job Description Job Overview Join our dedicated Farm Animal Care Team as a vital contributor to the health, welfare, and overall well-being of a diverse range of farm animals, including horses, goats and small pigs. You will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting the daily operations of our farm facility. Your passion for animal welfare and hands-on experience will help ensure our animals receive the highest quality of care in a compassionate and professional setting. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, making a meaningful impact on their lives. Duties Provide daily care for farm animals, including feeding, watering, grooming, and monitoring their health status Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by cleaning stalls, equipment, and common areas Support animal husbandry practices including record keeping of daily care, treatments, behaviors, and health observations Communicate effectively with other team members Qualifications Prior experience working with farm animals is highly preferred. Ability to stand, walk, lift heavy objects safely, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Some power equipment will be used for certain tasks, such as a utility vehicle and pasture manure vacuum, but other tasks are manual labor with a pitchfork, wheel barrow and standard square bales of hay weighing approximately 50 pounds. Please note that while our animals are friendly, any work with animals carries some inherent risk of being stepped on, bitten, kicked or otherwise injured. There is a zero tolerance policy for animal abuse, neglect and cruelty.
Hours and pay Morning shifts:
starting at approximately 7-8:30AM, duration of approximately 1-1&1/2 hours Evening shifts: starting at approximately 5:30-7PM, duration of approximately 1-1&1/2 hours
Compensation:
