Role:
Our Hospital is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Kennel Attendant to join our caring team in Norwalk, CT! This is a fantastic opportunity for an animal lover who thrives in a fast-paced veterinary environment and wants to make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners every single day.
Responsibilities:
Provide daily care for boarded and hospitalized animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising Clean and sanitize kennels, runs, cages, and common areas to maintain a safe and hygienic facility Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff promptly Handle animals safely and humanely, including dogs, cats, and other small pets Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with basic animal restraint as needed Perform laundry duties and maintain cleanliness of bedding and supplies Provide compassionate interaction and enrichment activities for boarded animals
Requirements:
Genuine love for animals and commitment to their health and well-being Previous experience working with animals in a kennel, shelter, or veterinary setting preferred Ability to safely handle animals of all sizes, temperaments, and breeds Strong attention to detail and ability to follow sanitation and care protocols Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in an active environment Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays as needed
