Like being outside? Would you rather spend your weekend hanging out with dogs and cats than sitting behind a desk??? DPS is West Hartford's largest and most trusted dog walking and pet sitting company , and we're hiring for our weekend morning pet care team! This position is a mix of in-home pet sitting and dog walking, with weekends tending to include more vacation pet sitting than our weekday routes. You'll still walk plenty of dogs, but you may also feed pets, care for cats, refresh water, scoop litter boxes, and make sure everything is just right while clients are away. Unlike many pet care companies that use independent contractors, we hire W-2 employees. You're part of an actual team, not doing gig work through an app. ❤ Why You'll Love Working with DPS Earn $19 to $22+ per hour including hourly pay + tips. Some shifts may average even more. Mileage reimbursement is paid separately on top of that. Paid training, regular raises, and ongoing support. A fun, friendly team that genuinely loves what we do. ❤ What You'll Do Visit client homes throughout West Hartford and nearby areas, including Hartford's West End and parts of Farmington and Bloomfield. Provide 20, 30, and 45 minute dog walks and pet sitting visits. Walk dogs, feed pets, care for cats, refresh food and water, scoop litter boxes, and follow client instructions. Send updates through our app after visits and communicate with managers if anything seems unusual. Follow a GPS-optimized route created by our manager to minimize unnecessary driving and backtracking. Because many weekend clients are traveling, this role comes with a little more responsibility than a typical weekday dog walking route. Sometimes you may be one of the main people caring for a pet while their family is away. ❤ Who We're Looking For You should be: Extremely reliable, conscientious, and detail oriented. Comfortable working independently and driving between homes. Comfortable caring for both dogs and cats, including large, strong dogs. A good communicator who notices when something doesn't seem right. Someone who understands the responsibility of caring for clients' pets and homes. ❤ Schedule Saturdays and Sundays Generally between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM Most shifts are approximately 3 to 7 hours per day Consistent weekend availability is important.
