Job Description
JOB DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Works with other Animal Care Technicians to maintain a clean, safe environment for our pet guests. 2. Ensures all suites are sanitized / disinfected for new arrivals. 3. Provides clean bedding and fresh water to each new pet guest. 6. Directs the cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting of all used dog suites and cat condos. 4. Makes sure each boarded animal receives the correct type and quantity of food each meal. 5. Ensures pets have clean water at all times. 6. Makes sure each pet receives proper diet each day. 7. Monitors and accurately charts consumption and elimination of each and every pet guests; brings problems to the attention of the Center Manager. 9. Performs several walk-throughs each day to ensure pet guest safety and well-being in the boarding areas. 10. Cleans up pet excrement as needed. 11. Maintains kitchen in clean orderly manner. 12. Oversees and performs daily laundering of pet bedding and towels. 13. Stores pet food in the kitchen as needed. 14. Monitors physical plant needs in the boarding areas and performs basic repairs as needed. Reports all other needed repairs to Center Manager. 15.Treats customers, guests and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner; greets all customers encountered while performing work duties. 16. Assists other Associates as needed. 17. Performs other duties as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION
High School Graduate or EquivalentEXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1 year animal care/kennel experience.PHYSICAL
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds.
- Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Must be able to work on computer system.
- Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
- Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant / sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.

- Must have the ability to resolve problems quickly and professionally.
- Must have the ability to supervise, motivate and counsel Associates.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a love of animals.
