An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Job Description
- Provide attentive and compassionate care for dogs, and cats
- Follow each pet's established feeding, medication, exercise, and care routine
- Provide dog walks, potty breaks, playtime, enrichment, and companionship
- Provide overnight/in-home pet sitting when accepting those assignments
- Send professional updates and photos during visits
- Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, or wellbeing
- Maintain clients' homes respectfully while providing care
- Communicate reliably and professionally regarding accepted assignments Independent Contractor Requirements Applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license and car insurance
- Have a reliable smartphone
- Have their own pet sitter liability insurance or be willing to obtain coverage (plans are available for approximately $29/month)
- Be willing to pay for and successfully pass an independent background check
- Be dependable and able to follow detailed pet-care instructions
- Be comfortable working independently in clients' homes
- Have genuine experience and confidence caring for animals
- Be comfortable caring for pets of different sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities Pet First Aid/CPR certification and professional pet-care experience are a plus, but a genuine commitment to safe, responsible animal care is most important.
