Groomer Key Responsibilities:

Must have your own tools i.e. clippers, blades, scissors, etc. Successful completion of Safety, Bather/Brusher and Grooming Academy training certification Groom and style pets per owners' instructions and/or according to breed standards Perform nose-to-toes assessment of pets Conduct client consultation at check-in/check-out Bathe pets Prepare invoices Book appointments Perform walk-in nail trims Ensure the wellness and safety of furry patrons at all times Perform routine cleaning before and after shift to keep the grooming environment in tip-top shape Mentor grooming assistants/bathers Assist store team members during grooming down time Develop long-term relationships with pet parents by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that will keep their pet healthy and happy Community outreach to attract new neighbors into our store

Groomer Candidate Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED Two or more years of grooming experience with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer, or willing and able to participate in Pet Supplies Plus' training and certification program Excellent interpersonal skills to develop long-lasting relationships with pet parents Ability to lift up to 150 pounds assisted, and 50 pounds without assistance Ability to stand, walk, and move about for prolonged periods of time Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays Must have reliable transportation Must pass drug screenings Must be 18 years or older Must enjoy and be comfortable working with primarily dogs and cats of all sizes, temperaments and breeds, including handling and lifting animals as necessary Ability to work independently without direct supervision
