Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join us in providing loving care for our pets while contributing positively to their owners' experiences with our hospital! As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while supporting our mission to deliver exceptional service to pet owners.
Responsibilities:
⦁ Help with the intake and discharge process of pets, ensuring all necessary paperwork and belongings are returned accurately. ⦁ Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising dogs and cats. ⦁ Set up kennels for patients: rack, blanket, litter box and a water bowl if permitted ⦁ Properly apply ID tags and cage cards ⦁ Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. ⦁ Collect urine/stool samples on outpatients as needed ⦁ Assist with technician appointments. ⦁ Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment. ⦁ Complete routine hospital cleaning/maintenance duties as scheduled Preferred qualifications: ⦁ Previous experience in pet care, animal husbandry and bathing is preferred ⦁ Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and any incidents that occur during shifts.
