In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable space for our furry residents while ensuring their health and happiness. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. Whether caring for dogs, cats, or other small animals, you'll play a key role in supporting their well-being through hands-on animal handling, cleaning, and customer service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals and develop your skills in veterinary and pet care. Responsibilities Provide attentive pet handling and animal restraint to ensure safety during feeding, cleaning, and medical procedures Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough sanitization and grooming practices Monitor animals' behavior and health, reporting any signs of illness or distress to veterinary staff promptly Assist with pet boarding by feeding, watering, exercising, and providing companionship to animals in our care Support pet grooming activities such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and healthy Handle outdoor work tasks including cleaning outdoor kennels and supervising exercise periods in secure outdoor spaces Engage with pet owners through friendly customer service, answering questions about pet care routines and facility policies Experience Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly valued for understanding animal health needs Experience in pet sitting or pet boarding demonstrates your ability to care for animals independently Kennel experience or animal handling background is preferred to ensure confident management of various breeds and temperaments Skills in dog training or animal behavior help promote positive interactions between pets and staff Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during tasks such as moving supplies or assisting with large animals is essential Outdoor work experience supports the physical demands of kennel maintenance and outdoor exercise supervision Strong customer service skills are important for communicating effectively with pet owners and visitors Join us if you're passionate about animal welfare, eager to develop your veterinary skills, and ready to bring energy to a rewarding role that makes a difference every day!
