This is not a traditional receptionist or seated front-desk position. Kailua Pets is an active working grooming spa, and this role moves throughout the business. Your primary area of ownership will be client communication and follow-through . As we grow, we need one person paying close attention to calls, messages, scheduling, rebooking, client questions and follow-up so nothing falls through the cracks. At the same time, you will be trained as a working member of our grooming team. We will fully train the right person in our bathing, drying, dog-handling and grooming-prep systems so you understand how the business operates and can step in wherever help is needed. What you will do Answer and return client calls and messages Schedule, rebook and adjust appointments Follow up with new and existing clients Make sure questions, messages and promised callbacks are completed Greet clients and assist with dog check-in and check-out Maintain accurate client and dog information Assist with payments and daily client communication Help maintain our client follow-up and rebooking systems Schedule prepared social media content and help keep online communication consistent Train fully in Kailua Pets bathing and grooming-prep procedures Bathe, dry, brush, comb and prep dogs as needed Safely handle and move dogs throughout the grooming process Help with laundry, cleaning, disinfecting, restocking and maintenance Step into whatever part of the operation needs help at that moment You may be a strong fit if you Communicate clearly, warmly and confidently Are comfortable speaking with clients both in person and by phone Notice what needs to be done and follow through Are organized and good at keeping track of many small details Enjoy variety rather than sitting at a desk throughout the day Are comfortable learning scheduling, communication and social media tools Enjoy dogs and want to learn professional dog handling and grooming care Are comfortable with physical work and being on your feet Can move easily between client communication, computer work, dogs, cleaning and shop responsibilities Take pride in completing work carefully and well Ask when something is unclear rather than allowing it to be missed Professional grooming experience is not required . Kailua Pets has a structured in-house training program and is willing to teach the right person. Schedule This position will initially be approximately 9:00 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday , although the exact schedule has some flexibility. Additional hours may become available over time for someone who has schedule flexibility and becomes a strong member of the bathing and grooming team. The most likely path to additional hours will be through bathing, drying, prep and other grooming-support work.
