Dog Boarding & Day Camp Attendant AHSD Canine Services Bettendorf, IA Job Details Part-time $13 - $16 an hour 11 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Retirement plan Qualifications Companion animal handling Interpersonal skills Outdoor work experience Dog handling Ability to follow instructions Full Job Description Boarding & Day Camp Attendant Job Overview AHSD Canine Services is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and dog-loving Boarding & Day Camp Attendant to join our team! This is a hands-on position responsible for providing safe, attentive care to dogs participating in day camp and staying with us for boarding. Attendants help with playgroups, feeding, cleaning, enrichment, potty breaks, and the overall daily care of our guests. This job is much more than playing with dogs. A large portion of the position involves cleaning, sanitation, monitoring dog behavior, and following established safety procedures. We are looking for someone who is reliable, works well as part of a team, and isn't afraid to get dirty! Experience working with dogs is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person. Job Duties & Responsibilities Supervise dogs during day camp and group play Monitor dog body language, behavior, and interactions to maintain safe playgroups Safely introduce, move, and handle dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments Provide boarding dogs with scheduled potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, and individual attention Feed dogs according to their individual feeding instructions Provide fresh water and regularly monitor water bowls Follow medication and special-care instructions as directed Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, bathroom habits, or physical condition and report concerns to management Clean and disinfect kennels, play areas, yards, floors, and other areas of the facility Pick up and properly dispose of dog waste and clean up accidents Wash dishes, bedding, towels, toys, and other facility items Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment throughout the facility Follow AHSD's dog-handling, cleaning, and safety procedures Communicate effectively with coworkers and management Complete assigned opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties Assist with other facility duties as needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Dependable and punctual Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds and sizes Able to remain calm and attentive in a loud, fast-paced environment Comfortable cleaning up urine, feces, vomit, and other messes Able to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols Observant and able to recognize changes in dog behavior A team player with good communication skills Willing to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and being active for extended periods Available for a flexible schedule as needed, including weekends and holidays Our dogs depend on us 365 days a year, so weekend and holiday availability is an important part of this position.
Pay:
$13.00 - $16.00 per hour
