Overnight Pet Sitter - In Home Overnight Stays Pet Care Club Des Moines, IA Job Details Part-time $15 - $20 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Paid training Opportunities for advancement Flexible schedule Qualifications Driver's License Mobile devices
Full Job Description Benefits:
Flexible schedule Opportunity for advancement Training & development About Pet Care Club Pet Care Club is a locally owned, locally run pet care company serving Des Moines and the surrounding metro. When our clients travel, a lot of them do not want their dog going anywhere. They want someone in the house, on the couch, and in bed by ten. That is this job. We are hiring overnight sitters who stay in clients' homes while the pet parents are away. Most of our overnight sitters work 5 to 12 nights a month , which makes this a genuinely good fit alongside a day job, school, or remote work. You are in someone's guest room with a dog, not in a second office. Pay $50 to $75 per overnight stay , depending on the home and the pets $15 to $20 per hour for any daytime drop-in visits you pick up around your overnights Paid travel time between consecutive visits What the Job Actually Looks Like Arrive at the client's home in the evening, settle the pets in, and stay the night Handle the evening routine: dinner, medications, the last walk of the night, cleanup Sleep at the client's home. You get your own space, the wifi password, and usually an extremely enthusiastic bedmate Handle the morning routine: breakfast, medications, walk, and a tidy house before you head out Send photo and journal updates through our team app so the pet parents can actually relax on their trip Keep the house looking lived in (mail, trash, lights, blinds) and manage keys, locks, and alarms carefully Watch for and immediately report any signs of pet distress, illness, or unusual behavior Add daytime drop-in visits around your overnights if you want the extra hours What We Are Looking For (Qualifications) Animal Background (Required): A verifiable history of working with animals. This can include professional pet care, veterinary tech experience, animal shelter volunteering, or extensive personal pet ownership and training. Genuinely comfortable staying overnight in a client's home. This is the whole job. If sleeping somewhere unfamiliar is not for you, one of our daytime sitter roles will suit you better and we would still like to hear from you. Availability on weekends and holidays. That is when people travel and when we need you most.
