In this energetic role, you will ensure the well-being, cleanliness, and safety of animals in our care while delivering outstanding customer service to pet owners. Your enthusiasm for animals and dedication to maintaining a clean, safe environment will help create a positive experience for both pets and their families. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, develop your pet care skills, and contribute to a compassionate team environment. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercising, and administering medications as needed Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular sanitization and disinfecting procedures Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills to ensure safety for pets and staff Monitor animal behavior to identify signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly. Support veterinary staff with basic tasks such as bathing, brushing and light animal restraint when necessary Maintain accurate records of animal care activities, health status, and cleaning schedules Qualifications Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic, pet boarding facility, or kennel setting is a plus, but not required. Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving animals or supplies safely Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Outdoor work experience preferred for tasks involving outdoor exercise or cleaning outdoor kennels Commitment to maintaining a sanitized environment through pet care facility sanitization practices Availability to work weekends and holidays is required.
