Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, haircutting, pet coat styling, and nail trimming to meet each dog's specific needs. Handle animals safely and gently, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety during grooming procedures. Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their preferences, provide grooming recommendations, and discuss pet care instructions. Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and properly stored. Assist with pet handling tasks such as animal restraint, behavioral management, and ensuring a stress-free grooming experience. Support pet care routines by monitoring the health and well-being of animals during grooming sessions, recognizing signs that may require veterinary attention. Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of animal handling, customer service, and overall cleanliness. Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming or related animal care fields such as veterinary technician or assistant roles, with a focus on companion animal handling. Strong skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and pet coat styling to deliver professional grooming results. Knowledge of veterinary experience or veterinary assistant skills is a plus for understanding animal health indicators. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to handle larger dogs or move equipment safely. Excellent communication skills to engage with pet owners confidently and clearly explain grooming procedures or pet care advice. Familiarity with pet nail trimming, animal handling techniques, and basic animal care practices. Prior experience in dog training or equine experience is beneficial but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
