Job Summary Join our dynamic pet care team as a Kennel Attendant, where your passion for animals and dedication to their well-being will shine! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional care and attention to a variety of animals, ensuring they are comfortable, healthy, and happy during their stay. Your energetic approach and love for animals will help create a safe and nurturing environment for pets and peace of mind for their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your animal handling skills while working in a lively, pet-focused setting. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals including feeding, medication, watering, cleaning kennels, and monitoring health status Handle dogs and other pets with gentle restraint and appropriate animal handling techniques Assist with pet grooming, bathing, and basic pet training activities to promote good behavior and hygiene Maintain cleanliness of all kennel areas, including disinfecting cages and common spaces to ensure a sanitary environment Observe animals for signs of illness or distress and communicate any concerns to veterinary staff or supervisors Support outdoor activities such as walks or playtime to promote physical activity and mental stimulation Engage with pet owners through friendly customer service, answering questions about pet care routines and facility policies Requirements Prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, pet care facilities, or similar environments is highly preferred Strong dog handling skills along with animal restraint expertise to ensure safety for pets and staff Knowledge of animal behavior, welfare, and basic pet grooming techniques Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies or animals when necessary Comfortable working in variety of weather conditions. Outdoor work experience is beneficial for assisting with outdoor walks or play areas Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and proactive problem-solving Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform manual tasks throughout the shift MUST have weekend availability.
