What We Offer Starting pay of $20.00/hour No previous experience required Paid training provided Opportunities for career growth and development Work that makes a meaningful impact on human and animal health What You'll Do As an Animal Care Technician, you will learn and perform essential animal care and research support tasks, including: Providing daily care and husbandry for laboratory animals Monitoring animal health, welfare, and behavior Handling and restraining animals using established procedures Feeding animals and maintaining clean housing environments Recording observations, body weights, and study-related data Collecting and documenting research data accurately Assisting with dosing procedures and biological sample collection Operating and maintaining equipment and instruments Following quality control, safety, and compliance requirements Supporting a culture of humane animal care and welfare Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred No prior experience required Experience working with animals is a plus Experience in physically active or labor-intensive roles is helpful Strong verbal and written communication skills Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a team environment Ability to follow detailed procedures and documentation requirements Additional Requirements Ability to work in an animal research environment Ability to lift, move, and perform physically demanding work as needed Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or overtime Must be able to follow all safety, regulatory, and animal welfare guidelines Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship At Charles River Laboratories, your work helps advance the discovery, development, and safety testing of new treatments that improve lives around the world.
