Job Overview Are you a passionate dog lover with leadership skills? We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Afternoon Shift Lead to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the afternoon and closing operations, ensuring a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for our furry guests while leading a dedicated team of Pack Leaders. Your leadership skills will help uphold our commitment to excellence, foster a positive work environment, and ensure all operational tasks are completed efficiently. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate afternoon staff to ensure high-quality care for all dogs. Ensure that all dogs are safe, healthy and happy. Manage playgroups and ensure safe interactions among dogs. Address any behavioral issues and provide guidance to staff on proper handling techniques (training is provided) Emphasize, execute and delegate cleaning tasks, including:
  • Washing toys and dishes used by the dogs.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Wiping down walls, play structures and surfaces to prevent the spread of germs.
  • Using the correct cleaning products in the appropriate locations to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  • Understanding the importance of environmental cleanliness in promoting the health of all pups in our care.
  • Complete all assigned tasks fully, correctly, and in a timely manner along with demonstrating attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners about their dogs' activities and relay any concerns to management.
  • Assist in training new staff members and foster a positive team environment.
  • Be willing and flexible to cover extra hours occasionally as needed.
Qualifications Previous experience in a supervisory role in an animal care setting preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Horse/barn experience appreciated, but not required. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of cleaning procedures and the importance of maintaining a sanitary environment for the health of all pups in our care. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a dog daycare or boarding facility, strong leadership skills, and a genuine love for animals. They should be energetic, sociable, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
