Job Description
You should be:
Dependable and punctual Warm, friendly and comfortable talking with clients in person and on the phone Detail-oriented and able to follow established processes consistently Comfortable enforcing policies even when a client is disappointed or disagrees Calm enough to handle the occasional difficult customer without taking it personally Comfortable making routine decisions independently while knowing when to ask for help Tech-comfortable and able to learn new cloud-based software quickly Able to switch between tasks without losing important details Comfortable taking feedback and learning new skills Proactive—someone who notices a scheduling problem, a groomer who could use help or a task that needs doing and takes action Interested in a long-term part-time position , not simply something temporary while looking for full-time work Prior customer-service experience is strongly preferred. Professional animal-care experience is a plus but not required. You do not need previous Fear Free experience. We will teach you our approach. You do need to believe in patient, humane handling and treating the dogs in our care with kindness and respect. Schedule This position will generally be 15-20 hours per week , with approximately three weekday morning shifts, typically around 8:30 AM-2:30 PM . We are looking for someone with some schedule flexibility. Our needs are evolving as the salon grows, so the specific weekday schedule may change over time. You should also be available for: Approximately one Saturday per month Occasional full-day shifts Additional hours during planned vacation coverage Occasional last-minute coverage when a team member is sick or unavailable We don't expect you to be available every time something unexpected happens, but flexibility is an important part of this particular role. Physical Requirements This is not a sit-at-a-desk-all-day job .You must be comfortable:
Standing and moving for extended periods Bending, reaching and working in a bathing environment Getting wet and covered in dog hair Working around barking dogs and grooming dryers Safely handling dogs of different sizes Lifting approximately 40-50 pounds when necessary Pay & Benefits $18-$21/hour , depending on relevant experience.
