Most grooming jobs want years of experience. This one doesn't. If you're great with dogs, great with people, and willing to work, we'll teach you the trade and pay you while you learn it.

We actually train you. Hands-on mentorship from working groomers in the van, not a video course. You start as a bather and assistant and take on more as you earn it. $16/hour from your first shift. You get paid while you learn — no tuition, no unpaid apprenticeship. All equipment supplied. Clippers, shears, dryers, tables, product. You buy nothing. A real path, not a dead end. Once you're certified you move to 35% commission with your own van and your own client book. Our experienced groomers earn $70,000-$100,000 a year. One dog at a time. No assembly line. What you'll learn: Safe, confident handling — reading body language and keeping every dog calm on the table Bathing, drying, and coat prep, then brush-outs, de-shedding, and mats Nails, ears, teeth, and sanitary trims Clipper and scissor work, then breed-specific styling as you progress How to talk to pet parents, understand what they want, and keep them rebooking What we need: Genuinely good with dogs. Calm and safe around all sizes and temperaments. Genuinely good with people. You'll be at someone's door representing us — friendly, presentable, and easy to talk to. Reliable. On time, every shift. This is the one thing we won't flex on. Coachable. You take feedback and actually apply it. Physically up for it — on your feet all day, lifting dogs up to 70 lbs, getting wet and hairy. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Available full-time, including some Saturdays. No grooming experience required. Any hands-on animal experience is a plus — bathing, kennel, daycare, vet clinic, shelter, or your own dogs at home. About MD Pup Scouts We're a growing mobile pet-care company serving Annapolis and greater Anne Arundel County — dog walking, mobile grooming, training, and overnight care. We'd rather grow our own groomers than fight over the same few experienced ones.
