Are you a compassionate and dedicated animal lover? We are seeking a full-time permanent Kennel Technician to join our team at Howl-A-Day Resort in Midland, MI. Must be available some weekend and holiday hours. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a vital role in providing the highest standards of care and comfort to our furry residents. If you have a genuine love for animals, strong attention to detail, and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of pets and their owners, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily care and attention to animals in the facility.
  • Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their individual needs.
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the management team.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and treatments.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with animals in a professional or personal setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of animal behavior, handling techniques, and basic care practices preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with pet owners.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow detailed instructions.
  • Physical stamina to handle large or energetic animals and perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Skills:
  • Animal handling: Experience in safely handling various types of animals with different temperaments.
  • Customer service: Ability to provide excellent customer service to pet owners by addressing their concerns and answering their questions.
  • Dog handling: Proficiency in handling dogs of all sizes and breeds.
  • Kennel:
    Knowledge of kennel operations, including cleaning protocols and animal care standards.
  • Pet care: Experience in providing basic care for pets, including feeding and exercise.
  • Animal care: Understanding of animal welfare principles and ability to provide appropriate care for animals in a kennel setting.
