Job Type:

Part-time/Casual West Metro Pet Care is looking for an animal lover with an empathetic heart for both pets and the people who adore them. In this role, you will provide thoughtful, reliable care, exercise, and enrichment for dogs , cats , and pocket pets right in their home environments.

This position offers wonderful flexibility:

many assignments are as quick as 30 minutes , making them easy to fit in before work, during a lunch break, or after another job if you work or live in the immediate area. If you thrive working independently, take pride in managing your time creatively, and enjoy connecting with fellow animal people in the community, you will fit right in with our supportive, pet-first team.

Schedule & Availability Immediate Need:

Friday and Saturday mornings.

Flexible Assignments:

Visits often run around 30 minutes, offering a great way to earn extra income around your current routine (e.g., mornings, lunch hours, or late afternoons/evenings).

Growth :

Ample opportunities to pick up more visits, weekday walks, weekend check-ins, or overnight sitting as client demand expands. What You'll Do Provide compassionate, attentive in-home visits (typically 30-60 minutes), including feeding, refreshing water, administering routine medications, and basic pet hygiene routines. Conduct safe, enriching dog walks and play sessions tailored to each pet's personality and needs. Maintain clear, empathetic, and professional communication with pet parents, sending detailed visit updates, photos, and notes via our pet care software. Manage travel routes and daily schedules creatively and efficiently, navigating scheduled arrival windows smoothly.

• Support overnight sitting or specialized visits when available.

Qualifications & Requirements Location:

Based in the Minnetonka/Wayzata area or living within 10-15 miles of the Wayzata/Mound area to keep travel times short and convenient. Heart for

Deep empathy for animals of all temperaments and backgrounds, paired with a warm, caring approach toward their humans.

Creative Time Management:

Strong organizational skills to seamlessly fit visits into your day and plan routes effectively.

Animal Experience:

Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes and breeds, cats, and pocket pets. Prior experience in pet care, rescue, sheltering, or veterinary environments is a plus.

Physical Capability & Outdoor Readiness:

Comfortable walking outdoors in varying Minnesota weather conditions.

Reliability:

Must have a valid driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, up-to-date auto insurance, and a smartphone capable of running our scheduling app.
