Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Grooming and Kennel Assistant, where your passion for animals and dedication to their care will shine! In this energetic role, you will support pet grooming, animal handling, and kennel management to ensure our furry friends receive exceptional care in a safe, clean, and loving environment. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. Responsibilities Assist with pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, pet coat styling, and pet nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and looking their best Handle animals safely during bathing, feeding, cleaning, and exercise routines using proper restraint techniques Maintain cleanliness of kennels, grooming areas, and common spaces by disinfecting cages, tools, and equipment regularly Support pet sitting duties by monitoring animals' behavior and providing basic care such as feeding and administering medications if needed Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' grooming needs, health status, and special instructions Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies, kennels, or animals safely within the facility Assist veterinary staff or technicians with animal handling during medical procedures or examinations when required Front desk duties, checking clients in and out, cash handling, Scanning, email, Phone etiquette Weekend Kennel Duties Requirements Prior experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or kennel management is highly desirable Knowledge of animal handling techniques and restraint methods for various species including dogs and horses Experience with veterinary procedures such as pet nail trimming or basic animal care is a plus Strong communication skills to interact confidently with pet owners and team members Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts Familiarity with animal behavior and training techniques is beneficial A compassionate attitude towards animals combined with a proactive approach to their safety and comfort This role is perfect for someone eager to grow their expertise in animal care while making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets.
